Kids ages 7 to 12 are invited to join us at Central Public Library - Malta (Floriana) to learn the basics of Painting in Watercolours with artist Anastasia Pace!! Friday 5th July: Session 1 - Drawing Book Illustration (9.30-11.30am) & Friday 12th July: Session 2 - Creating a Sample Book (9.30-11.30am) Both sessions will be held in English. Both events are free of charge and material for the session is provided for by Malta Libraries. Aprons/Old T-shirts advised. Play Dates FUN will be offering water play dates during the summer months of July, August and September. These play dates will be held once a week for a duration of 90mins, at the Chinese Garden of Serenity St.Lucija.(Ġnien taċ- Ċinizi). Water play dates will consist of fun unstructured sessions involving water play, sensory activities and open-ended play. Children will have the opportunity to enhance their motor and sensory skills through play, whilst also making new friends in a sociable environment.

Parent and child event at Zebbug Learning Studio Booking is required as places are limited

We will be hosting a series of workshops during April at The Mill - Art, Culture and Crafts Centre, Birkirkara. During the workshop participants (ages 6 years and over) will learn stick weaving and will be making custom postcards. This is part of a project 'Islands with views' by Mary Carol Souness. Booking is essential since spaces are limited for each session. Booking will only be confirmed once the fee is carried out prior to the workshops. Payment details will be sent by email. Project details: What do the islands South Uist, Scotland and Malta have got to do with each other? The former is a rural island part of the Outer Hebrides facing the mighty Atlantic ocean and the latter is the main island of the Maltese archipelago, bang in the middle of the warm Mediterranean sea. Starting as a conversation, Mary Carol Souness embarked on a project 'Islands with views' as part of her MA in Art and Social Practice. The project wants to start a conversation between the islands through stick weaving and postcard making. An installation of the weaving and postcards developed in South Uist will be at The Mill during the workshops. The weaves and postcards created during the Malta workshops will then be included in the installation and left for viewing until the 4th of May. What is stick weaving? It's an ancient yet simple weaving technique, that is easy and quick to learn. All you need is two sticks, some yarn and an hour to spare.
